Releases

What each release changes, and the matching packages. Up-to-date installations receive the latest one automatically, unless the check was turned off in the settings.

Only the most recent version stays published. The calculation method has changed three times — in 0.2.7, carbon intensity table given a source and data centre efficiency counted; in 0.2.10, the context read by agents billed; in 0.2.14, server manufacturing brought into carbon as a bounded hypothesis. The shared footprint refuses versions older than 0.2.10; 0.2.14 does not close the door: the added term weighs on the order of one per cent on carbon-heavy mixes, and hours stay labelled by version. A version older than the refusal estimates with factors we have publicly corrected: its figures are not comparable to today's, and distributing them would mean handing out a rectified method. A machine still on an older version is told at launch, and the shared footprint counts its hours separately, by version, never mixed with the others. In the notes below, a line starting with "Method:" marks a change in the calculation. The notes below are everything the project publishes about a release: there is no more detailed log elsewhere, and the calculation itself is set out on the methodology page.
